Descrizione

Sul dorso è color blu scuro, mentre sui lati e sul ventre è biancastro. Lungo i fianchi corre una banda bluastra iridescente.

Diffusione

È una specie cosmopolita e oceanodroma, è diffuso nell'atlantico occidentale, nel Pacifico e nell'Indiano, in generale in tutte le zone tropicali o subtropicali. Risulta completamente assente nel Mar Mediterraneo.
